Another abduction by naval agency officials exposed
KARACHI: Another incident of abduction for ransom by officials of the Naval Intelligence has come to light.This time, the victim is not a common trader or citizen but a chief petty officer of the Pakistan Navy (PNS Rahat).
The Naval Intelligence officials kept the Chief Petty Officer, Ramzan Shah, in confinement at the Intelligence Cell near the Chief Minister House for 29 days. He was abandoned in a critical condition after his family arranged the ransom money amounting to one million rupees. The kidnappers took the brother-in-law of the abducted person to dispose of his car for Rs1,470,000 and also cashed the pay order.
Although, an investigation was carried out when the matter was taken to the Chief of Staff, Vice Admiral Tayyab Ali Dogar, but the victim was dismissed from service after his refusal to back off from the demand of getting the ransom money back on an FIR registered against him five years back. However, the naval officers came into action and formed a tribunal when the victim reached the Sindh High Court. The proceeding of the tribunal has been fixed for September 9.
